    Do you find that morality is inherent to the characters in these books or something they have acquired due to circumstances different than those around them? If that’s not clear, I guess what I’m wondering is where the morality comes from.

    Also, goof luck to the world with that all-male survivor apocalypse.

    • Where does morality come from? Hmm, interesting question. I definitely think in most apocalypse books (including this one) morality comes from “before,” when you had a culture/society to teach you not to eat other people and to play nice with others. The idea, then is that presumably we recognize and, more importantly, affirm this morality because we come from the “before.” In this way, the continued presence of morality brings us hope for whatever future might still exist for humanity.
